Thousands of athletes have gone through this program in the last 15 years. The club has produced some of the areas most talented high school wrestlers, including 2 High School All-Americans, several State Champions & state place-winners, and numerous state qualifiers & Conference Champions. Currently we have athletes in the Port City Pirates from New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. This club is a feeder program for all high school wrestling programs. We want to see our wrestlers succeed regardless of where they attend school.
The Port City Pirates, formerly known as the Wilmington Warriors Youth Wrestling Club, was established in 1995 by Coach Dan Willis. This club was formed to give kids in grades K – 8 a chance to be exposed to the sport of wrestling before they entered high school.
